AUTHENTICITY - The very best of the Edwardian low-level cisterns sported this type of "beer-engine" handle, so we are proud to re-introduce this pattern.
QUALITY - Originally made from Cast Iron, which is strong but liable to rusting, this Cistern is made from Marine Quality Aluminium. This is considerably MORE EXPENSIVE THAN IRON, but this special alloy resists corrosion and gives a smoother finish.
The tail thread of the syphon is solid brass and the pipe nuts are supplied in Brass, Nickel or Chromium to match the flush-pipe. We do not offer the usual cheap metal `cup' to cover the (even cheaper) plastic nuts!
PRACTICALITY - The internal fittings are efficient modern versions of the originals and are the finest available.
The cistern conforms to current British Water Regulations in that it delivers just over one gallon.
ADAPTABILITY - The Syphon can be altered to deliver a full two gallons where needed, that is, when used with an older W.C. that requires more water.
We recommend that it is used in conjunction with our brackets and patrases, large-bore low-level flushpipe, and oval wooden seat (see illustration, left).
A PROPER SYPHON IS SUPPLIED - NEVER A "FLUSHING VALVE."
SUPPLIED PRIMED - CAN BE PAINTED ANY COLOUR.
